Fundus Photography

What is Fundus Photography?

High-resolution color photographs of the back of your eye (retina, optic nerve, macula, and vessels) taken with a specialized fundus camera.

Why it's done

To screen for, diagnose, and monitor retinal conditions—diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma—and track changes over time with a permanent image record.

What to expect

You'll rest your chin on a support, we'll take 2–4 quick flashes per eye, and that's it. If we use dilating drops, your vision may be blurry and light-sensitive for a few hours—sunglasses are recommended.
