Intravitreal Injections
What are Intravitreal Injections?
This is a quick, in-office procedure where a tiny amount of medication is placed directly into the eye to treat conditions like age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions.
Medications we use
- • Anti-VEGF injections (like Avastin®, Eylea®, Vabysmo®): These block abnormal blood vessels and reduce swelling.
- • Steroid injections: Used in some cases to reduce inflammation or persistent swelling in the retina.
These treatments can help preserve or improve vision—and are often repeated on a regular schedule depending on your condition.
What to expect
The eye is numbed beforehand so you don't feel pain, and the injection takes just seconds. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.
